The general scheme of the Symposium surrounds new science and novel materials at the submicron, nano, and atomic scales.

The topics of the Symposium include, but are not limited to:

• Bulk metallic glasses and composites, amorphous materials, nanocrystalline materials, bulk materials with nanometer- or submicrometer sized grains, quasicrystalline materials, rapidly quenched alloys, thin films and coatings
