Practical Information

Passport and Visa

If your stay is shorter than three months you only need to bring your valid passport with you. This applies to citizens of the following countries: countries of the American Continent (except Belize, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Peru), Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. For information on visa, permanent residence as well as on work permits and business matters, please contact the Swiss Consulate General located nearest you.

Money

The currency of Switzerland is Swiss Francs, usually indicated as CHF. While Switzerland is not part of the European Union and thus is not obliged to convert to the Euro, many prices are nonetheless indicated in Euros so that visitors may compare prices.

Transfer from Airport to hotel

By hotel bus: A variety of hotels near the airport and in the city centre operate their own shuttle services. Hotel buses pick up guests in front of Arrivals 1 and 2. Some hotels do not have their own bus service, but participate in a shared shuttle service to and from the airport. Please ask your hotel about the availability of a shuttle service.

By taxi: The airport taxi rank is located in front of Arrivals 1 and 2. A taxi ride from Zurich Airport to Zurich city centre costs approximately CHF 60 (€ 42). Taxis may be reserved in advance by calling 0848 850 852.

Travel by train: The airport has a Swiss Federal Railways (www.sbb.ch) station located under Terminal B. Trains to Zurich city run on approximately 10 minute intervals. There are S-trains (S2, S16, S14) as well as InterRegio trains that travel to central Zurich Main Station. There, you may change to a Tram to your hotel.

Public transport in Zurich

More than 1,900 trains come into the central Zurich Main Station every day. In the city, a close-knit public transport network, a simple regular timetable and short connection times guarantee quick, reliable and relaxing journeys. For timetables and routes, please refer to http://www.zvv.ch/en/.
